Billy Hart

Billy Hart's musical path in jazz began back in the early sixties working with voacalist/pianist Shirley Horn, pianist Bobby Timmons The Montgomery Brothers (Buddy and Monk Montgomery, along with their more celebrated brother Wes). and organist Jimmy Smith. Comfortable in a variety of musical settings he has performed and recorded with a long list of great artists such as Herbie Hancock, Eddie Harris, Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Joe Zawinal, Joe Lovano, Michael Brecker and McCoy Tyner. His playing can be heard on over 400 jazz recordings. Blessed with the innate ability to capture the essence of a composition and complement it with aural colours and textures on many dimensions Billy Hart continues to be a pioneer. He is featured on the 2005 G-THREE recording “SWIFT”.
